Boutique winery in Priorat opens its own guest house

Renovated by boutique winery Terroir Al Limit, Cal Compte, a charming historic guest house, has opened its doors to offer an immersive wine and dining experience for oenophiles in the heart of Spain’s Priorat.

Steeped in history and rich culinary tradition, Priorat has become a top destination for wine-loving holidaymakers. Catalonia, within which the wine region is located, continues to be the leading tourist destination in Spain, both in terms of number and spending. 19 million tourists visited the region last year, and spent over €19 billion.

Built during the 16th and 18th centuries in Baroque and Renaissance style, Cal Compte, has been brought to life by Priorat’s leading boutique winery Terroir al Limit and turned into a eclectic guest house, within walking distance of the terraced vineyards in Priorat.

The rustic and charming guest house features one airy open kitchen and eight rooms including three suites and five double rooms.

Entry-level double room start at €148, and the suite will cost €188 a night. The prices include breakfast and taxes.

Hotel guests will be offered an exclusive chance to try the seasonal menu featuring Mediterranean cuisine at the hotel’s open kitchen. The dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients sourced from the region such as seafood, herbs and local olive oil.

A three-coure menu starts at €48 an an elaborate five-course will set you back at €88.

Holidaymakers and guests will also have the chance to immerse themselves in a four-hour long guided winery and vineyard tour of Terroir al Limit, a boutique winery founded by chef-turned-winemaker Dominik Huber.
