REVIEWS

Review 2016/17

The kind of local restaurant that anyone would love to have within walking distance, owned by Brazilian-born English chef Dunford Wood, who infuses love into everything, from the homemade bread through to the broad beer list and concise wine list – largely Mediterranean in its focus. Almost all of the core bins are offered by both glass and carafe, providing a happy marriage with what the venue describes as an ‘evolving’ selection of ‘funky salads, smoked salmon, kyivs & cow pies, souffles & rolo’. More exciting is the ‘Fine White’ and ‘Finer Reds’ section, composed by The Winery’s David Viner, which offers real value between £40-80. Here you will find the likes of Napa Valley Cabernet from millennium year (Dunn) and Barolo from Scarpa, or even a sparkling Sekt ( Schloss Vaux, Rheingau – ‘Finer Bubbles’). Worth the trek to this part of north-west London if you are not fortunate enough to have the smart, minimalist, but welcoming venue as your neighbour, though, too.
