BEST FOR

Burgundy & Bordeaux

Quietly classy, easy drinking choices such as mature Château Puy Castera Claret to accompany well-liked and witty chef Jeremy Lee's quirkily illustrated menu where dishes, such as starter of smoked eel sandwich, main of ox tail, peas and broadbeans, and pudding of pistachio and rhubarb trifle, show a near evangelical approach to ingredients.

Review 2016/17

Quietly classy, easy drinking choices such as mature Château Puy Castera Claret to accompany well-liked and witty chef Jeremy Lee’s quirkily illustrated menu where dishes, such as starter of smoked eel sandwich, main of ox tail, peas and broadbeans, and pudding of pistachio and rhubarb trifle, show a near evangelical approach to ingredients. Expect deft Champagne picks, too from this landscape format, predominantly European list, such as Larmandier-Bernier’s ‘Terre de Vertus’ zero-dosage. Affordable half bottles from good producers are an additional plus for lunchers burdened with work commitments post dining, including Serge Dagueneau’s Pouilly-Fumé and Gevrey-Chambertin from Domaine Thierry Mortet. In the now beautiful restaurant’s own words, ‘Quo Vadis will endeavour to fill your cup and pass delicious morsels by your lips…’
