As slick as a polished Milanese brogue, Ritorno is an Italian wine and cocktail bar that aims to serve up a slice of high-fashion Italy.
Based off the eternally chic Kings Road, it serves small plates such as burrata with courgette purree and Sicilian chickpea fritters and king crab alongside a small but considered wine list, which is split into standard and premium. It is, as you might expect, largely made up of Italian wines, along with a smattering of offers from France and Italy.
Highlights on the standard list include a bottle of Bodegas Rafael Palacios ‘Louro Do Bollo’ Godello 2015, at £39 a bottle. On the premium side, a bottle of Gaja Barbaresco from Piedmont will set you back £370 – a near 200% mark up, given its £128 average price on Wine Searcher – still, this is Chelsea.
The New World represents just eight wines on Ritorno’s list, which interestingly is made up of wines exclusively from the US and Chile.
