Evelyn’s Table creates brew with Braybrooke Beer Co

Restaurateurs Zoë and Layo Paskin have teamed up with the Braybrooke Beer Co to create a pale lager for its 14-seater restaurant, Evelyn’s Table, in Soho.

Brewed by the Braybrooke Beer Co in Leicestershire, Evelyn’s Table Beer is a “refreshing” 3.8% pale lager in a “fruity Pilsner style” featuring Mandarina Bavaria as the main hop.

The bottle features the restaurant’s logo and a drawing of a smoking woman in homage the venue’s namesake, Evelyn Mulwray, from the 1974 film Chinatown starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway.

In addition to Evelyn’s Table, located in the converted wine cellar of The Blue Posts pub on Rupert Street in Soho, the brew is being served at the restaurant’s sister sites – The Palomar just down the road and The Barbary in Covent Garden.

It will also be on pour at The Blue Posts Pub above the restaurant and cocktail bar The Mulwray on the first floor, priced at £5.25 a bottle.

“We are particularly excited about this beautifully designed bottle of Evelyn’s Table beer being served across our family of sites, linking us not only to our upstairs pub and drinks lounge, but also The Palomar and The Barbary. The beer is light and tropical, and is a great way to start a meal at Evelyn’s,” said head chef Luke Robinson.

Nick Trower, founder of Biercraft, added: “Biercraft is a tight knit company of three. We love all things beer and food related and enjoy putting the best of both together wherever possible, so this was a perfect opportunity to do this by helping to make a beer for a very special restaurant.”
