Amazon launches 2l wine stockings in time for Xmas

Online retail giant Amazon is getting into the festive spirit with the launch of a giant plastic stocking capable of holding two litres of wine, which is already proving a hit.

Priced at £17.24 (plus a £2.09 delivery charge) the festive red and white stocking is printed with the words: ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas And A Happy Hangover’, and boasts a black tap at the end of the boot.

Sadly the sock, which can be hung from the fireplace like a traditional stocking, is sold without any wine inside, but can be frequently refilled via the screwcap nozzle. Amazon assures that the stockings are fully washable between uses, so you’re claret and your Beaujolais won’t intermingle.

The product has received a number of five star reviews, with one customer describing it as the perfect gift “for the wino that has everything”.

This isn’t the only wine stocking on the market. Another, Santa’s Flask, made by Party Flasks, has a capacity for 2.25l of wine. The lightweight stocking, made from FDA approved food grade plastic, features an opening wide enough for ice cubes and a leak-proof spout. It costs £16.99.
