Tom Kerridge to open first London restaurant

British chef Tom Kerridge, the owner of two-Michelin-starred gastropub Hand and Flowers in Marlow, is to open his first restaurant in London.

Chef Tom Kerridge is to open his first restaurant in London at the Corinthia Hotel London

The restaurant will be located inside the five-star Corinthia Hotel on the site that is currently Massimo Restaurant & Bar, with a separate direct entrance off Northumberland Avenue.

While few details on the venture have been revealed, the restaurant will be a “relaxed British brasserie-style dining room”, bringing an “all-day buzzy new addition” to the hotel, and will reflect the chef’s signature laid back and informal approach to dining.

“We are incredibly excited about this opportunity to bring a bit of what we are doing in Marlow to London,” said Kerridge. “Corinthia Hotel London is one of London’s most prestigious hotels, and we are looking forward to doing what we do best – quality British cooking that is modern and exciting. We will be taking inspiration from our Michelin-starred pub The Coach, and The Butcher’s Tap, as well as our first venture, the two Michelin-starred The Hand and Flowers.”

Kerridge opened The Hand and Flowers in Marlow in partnership with Greene King in 2005. In 2011, it became the first pub to receive two stars, which it retains to this day. In 2014, Kerridge opened The Coach, which received a Michelin star in 2017. He also owns The Butcher’s Tap, another pub in Marlow.

Commenting on the chef’s latest expansion, Thomas Kochs, managing director of Corinthia Hotel London, added: “When we met Tom, we knew he was the perfect partner to open a restaurant together. We admire his approach to food, restaurants and his spirit of hospitality. I am confident that together we will create an incredible dining experience.”

Alongside his restaurants, Kerridge has appeared on many television programmes including the Great British Food Revival, Tom Kerridge’s Proper Pub Food, Tom Kerridge’s Best Ever Dishes, and is also the front for BBC’s Food and Drink. He also has a series of cookbooks including Proper Pub Food, Best Ever Dishes, Tom’s Table, Tom Kerridge’s Dopamine Diet, and his latest, Lose Weight For Good, which was published in December 2017.

Further information on the new restaurant will be available from spring 2018.
