Familia Torres has opened a new restaurant at its winery Mas La Plana in Penedès.
Dubbed ‘El Celleret’, the restaurant will give diners a taste of “Mediterranean” dishes made from locally sourced ingredients – such as black cockerel, mussels from the Ebro delta, beef from Girona and Balfegó tuna – all paired with over 50 wines from Torres’s Spanish, Chilean and Californian estates.
The restaurant is sited amid the vineyards at Mas La Plana and sits 66 guests with a further 64 on the terrace.
This is Torres’s second restaurant, with the first being Masía Mas Rabell. Sergi Millet, who has been head chef there since 2004, will head up the El Celleret team alongside Martín Ponzo.
