Watch: Mask with moving mouth to revolutionise dining out

A mask with a remote control mouth has been developed by inventors in Israel that lets diners eat food without removing the protective facial covering, potentially allowing people to eat out during the coronavirus pandemic.

Using a cable operated mechanism connected to a lever, the diner can open and close a ‘mouth’ on the mask without lifting their hand from the table.

Crucially, this simple mechanism would allow people to eat without taking off their mask, which could reduce the risk of contracting or passing on the virus when visiting a restaurant.

The remote-control mask was developed by Avtipus Patents and Inventions, and you can see it in action in the video below, which was recorded by the BBC.
