London restaurants with Christmas and New Year hampers and wine

We round-up a selection of London restaurants, which featured in this year’s Wine List Confidential guide, that are offering Christmas and New Year hampers, meals and wines for delivery and collection.

With London placed into tier three this week, restaurants, pubs and bars have once again had to close their doors. Some, however, are offering meals and drinks for delivery in an effort to generate some income.

Here we list the restaurants that featured in this year’s Wine List Confidential guide that are offering festive food and drink for Christmas and the New Year.

Annabel’s Christmas hampers

While Matteo’s is closed, members’ club Annabel’s is pulling out all the stops this Christmas. With a range of boxes available, hampers include the Christmas Foodie Hamper, women’s and gentlemen’s hampers, as well as the option to create your own customised gift box. St. John

Nose-to-tail dining specialist St. John is selling mince pies, Christmas pudding, pies and other merchandise from its online shop for delivery or click and collect. Authentique

Authentique – Epicerie & Bar in Kentish town has long promoted the virtues of being a hybrid site, and successfully pivoted to a shop during the two national lockdowns. With free local delivery within 15 minutes of the shop, it selling two different-sized Christmas hampers, Christmas deli items and a wide array of wines that can be individually selected or bought as part of pre-selected Christmas cases. Albertine

Shop Cuvée

Shop Cuvée, and offshoot of Highbury wine bar Top Cuvée, is offering a booze-heavy Christmas hamper with a bottle of sparkling wine and red chosen by staff, as well as homemade mulled wine, a 500ml bottle of Three Sheets’ Negroni, hot sauce, a pack of salami, comté and a big bar of chocolate. Christmas and New Year meals

67 Pall Mall

London members’ club for wine lovers 67 Pall Mall has thought of it all. It is offering Christmas feast boxes for delivery before the big day, featuring a three-course turkey feast. It is also hosting a masterclass on the perfect Christmas lunch food and wine matching and a virtual Christmas Carols with mince pies & Champagne session on Saturday 19 December, with hampers delivered before the event. Hame by Adam Handling

Chef and restaurateur Adam Handling of Frog fame is offering both Christmas and New Year meals in a box. The Christmas feast, serving three to four people for £250, offers a choice of turkey or beef, and also includes cheese doughnuts, chicken butter and two pudding options. The New Year meal includes servings of wagyu and caviar tartare, lobster wagyu, beef wellington and a whole truffled Tunworth cheese. Vegetarian options are available for both meals. Sketch

Sketch’s at home service is offering a versatile Christmas feast, sold in portions of two to 12, at £60 per person. The main event includes a boneless turkey breast wrapped in smoked bacon, with lingonberry marmalade, sage roast potatoes, sprouts and chestnuts, snow peas and sesame seeds and turkey jus. The Game Bird at the Stafford

The Game Bird at the Stafford is selling Christmas meals for two and four people, as well as a New Year option. Dishes include game pâté en croûte and damson chutney, butter-poached native lobster, herb gnocchi and shellfish velouté and roast turkey crown and stuffed legs, winter root vegetables, sage and chestnut stuffing, pigs in blankets and turkey gravy. While the Berners Tavern is now closed, Jason Atherton at Home offers the next best thing. Available for nationwide delivery, the service includes both Christmas and New Year meals that can be heated and cooked at home. Trivet Online

Passione del Vino

Bar Douro

Portuguese restaurant Bar Douro has launched its own wine arm this year. A selection of pre-selected wine cases are available to order online, or wine lovers can join its wine club, which gives members a 10% discount off items from its bottle shop. Salon

Salon in Brixton is delivering its wine selections nationwide.
