The Spirit of Manchester Distillery launches members’ club

The Spirit of Manchester Distillery has a club to show the journey of its English malt whisky from cask to glass.

The distillery is known for its One Point Six whisky, so named after the “golden ratio” found in Fibonacci spirals and has permeated art and cultural for centuries. The One Point Six Founders’ Club has three tiers of membership, going from Concrete to Granite. Packages start from £40 and include lifetime membership to the club as well as special access to releases before they go on general sale, as well as induction into the One Point Six Hall of Fame.

Those in the upper tiers will receive tasting sets and one and two-year aged spirits so that they can taste the progress of the whisky’s maturation. A further perk is members are guaranteed a bottle of a first release, shipped by late 2025.

Co-founder and master distiller Seb Heeley-Wiggins, said: “The launch of the Founders’ Club is a key milestone in the One Point Six story. The club gives a unique opportunity for the public to sample One Point Six as it evolves from crystal clear new make spirit, into an exquisite English whisky.”

“We’ve imagined the flavours we want to achieve for One Point Six and created them using a complex blend of English distiller’s and brewer’s malts; a combination of yeasts not typically found in distilling, a longer-than-average fermentation process and a choice selection of casks, which will result in a complex, fruity flavour profile which will continue to develop as One Point Six matures.”
