12 of the best rooftop bars launched this summer

Piper-Heidsieck at Selfridges

As featured on Wine List Confidential earlier this month, Champagne house Piper-Heidsieck is offering guests the chance to sample exclusive serves in an extravagant garden on the Selfridges rooftop.

Located on the terrace of Selfridges’s rooftop restaurant, Alto by San Carlo, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy views over London.

Chosen for its rich, bold texture and intense flavours, Piper-Heidsieck’s gastronomic champagne, Rosé Sauvage, will be paired with Alto by San Carlo’s fine Italian cuisine, alongside a selection of the Champagne house’s award-winning offerings.

The terrace of Alto San Carlo will be transformed into a verdant garden where guests can choose between sofas on the terrace or private huts while a large outdoor screen will show the Wimbledon matches.

Founded in 1785 and with past devotees of the Champagne house said to include Marilyn Monroe, Piper-Hedsieck’s Régis Camus has been elected “Sparkling Winemaker of the Year” eight times since the beginning of the century by the International Wine Challenge jury.

The Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Garden will be open for the duration of the summer.
